Feline Frenzy is a stealth arcade game where you play as a frenzied owner whose felines have escaped the cat haven and gone over into the neighboured yard! Armed with an unlimited supply of treats and your glorious disguises you set off to rescue them.
Objectives:
The player must navigate around a stage set inside a modern suburban house sneakily rescuing your cats with disguises. The player can lay fish bait to lure in the cats and easily capture them. If the player moves while in a disguise however the cats will flee from them. The player can also approach the cats without a disguise, but the cat’s AI will be fleeing from them as soon as the player falls inside their line of sight.

The player can look at certain objects in the scene and transform into them. This will grant them a disguise to then explore the level as it (e.g., chairs or toilet seats) as well as hide from unsuspecting cats to catch them. If the player makes too much movement while in a disguise the cats will realise it is a person and proceed to flee.
In order to add difficulty to the game the cats were given behaviour and flee on sight of the player while in their regular character mesh and randomly walk while the player is not in their line of sight. The flee mechanic causes the cats to run away in the opposite direction of the player at a high speed until they are at a safe distance to continue walking within the designated area. To make the flee more dynamic, the cats will get a random location from within their capsule’s radius and flee there. (This ensures that the cats won’t run away in a completely straight line)


The Cat’s AI also causes it to ignore the player if there is food nearby and actively seek the food instead, which gives the player a chance to approach and get the cat. To ensure that the player cannot run into cats and spam a button to collect them, the input to collect cats is only enabled once they are colliding with a cat and is disabled when they are out of it.
To make the game difficulty slightly easier, the player has been granted with an unlimited supply of cat treats to lure in the cats.
The disguise aspect is the primary mechanic who also makes the game very fun to play. The player is able to disguise themselves as objects in the scene. I thought that adding prophunt mechanics would make the game unique and more fun to play.






The cat model was made using blender, have a low poly count and were given a simple matte material. There were three materials which are applied to the cat model at random when they are spawned into the game world. Black, Grey and Orange.
