Since the 2nd prototype is still waiting to be approved - an in-class testing session had taken place.

Screenshots from prototype 2:

Summary of feedback recieved:

  • The truck level had been well recieved

  • Lack of tutorials make it hard to know what the goal is

  • The game is not aesthetically pleasing - the art is not transparent

  • The potrait layout is far better than the landscape one implemented previously

The change in orientation of the game view made it easier and more comfortable for the players. In prototype 1, level 1 had been more harder since there was not enough space for the player to move the box and catch items in time. Landscape orientation meaning that the items fall much "faster" since there is not much distance between the chute and the box.

This week I had been creating some new assets for the game - primarily for the truck level:

The models were made to be low-poly to fit in with the simplicity of the game.

The tasks for the art had now been split up - I am in charge of creating most of the art for the truck level.
