This week we had some new members to the team and discussed the idea, role and mechanics. Me and the level designer put together a mood board to get a basic feel for the scene of the level.
I had to redo the other model (caused some issues with normals and merging) but the redone version ended up being better than the original!
Modelling:

[I still don't know why or how his head got indented at the front]
Wireframe:

Texture painting:
I had to UV unwrap the model (since eyelashes, eyebrows, eyes and some shadows are seperate objects I had to select them and unwrap seperately). I marked out a seam (to cut the UV from) from behind his ears - seams have to be in hidden areas to prevent them from being seen while texturing. adn unwrapped. The result is a scary looking face. The eyes and eyelashes were unwrapped from the front view.

I did have some options for eye styles, the pupil with a white ring won (option 1) since option 2 looked too souless and dead, and option 3 looked far too innocent and hopeful. For a nice effect I added in a slight red tinge to the ends of the eyelashes.
FInal textures:

I then started to model the hair again, but before doing so we needed to give him a scalp as a base (to prevent his bald head from being seen when his hair moves)
He now looks like a mix between an egg and lime cat.

Current hair progress: (Don't worry more detail will be added later)

That is all for this week's progress on the game. Next week's task is to get some basic attack, a minimap, basic level blockout, body mesh, NPC basemesh and some storyboards (basic one)
