Narrative Game 06

This week there was no workshop session as it was reading week.

Since next week was the pitch session, I began preparing the remainder of mechanics for the pitch, namely lockpicking, adding in markus's model and list the targets in the scene.


Our primary programmer had made a basic attack system for the enemies where their healthbar would go down, and using this I added in the display to show how many are left. With the enemies added into the game I could also assign them icons to be displayed into the minimap.


The lockpicking system works by getting the pick's current position and assigning a value to it. I animated the lock and pick using the animator compenent to add animations for rotating it right and left as well as the actual lock so the player knows if they are close to unlocking it.



The lockpicking system is dynamic and choses a different value to set as the location for an opened lock each time the player successfully picks it. It can also be manually set in the inspector.
