This week I fixed the lockpicking mechanics of the game and the camera switch from 3rd person to focusing on the lockpick. I also fine tuned the location of the correct lock

I added in a camera infront of the lockpick (a cinemachine virtual camera) and set it to be inactive.

Now once the player is picking the lock, it sets the camera to be active which automatically pans towards the lockpick camera, without needing to disable the players camera

The last parts of fine tuning the lockpick were to do with the player mesh. The player can still move around when lockpicking which posed a problem, to solve this the players speed were set to 0, and the mesh object (Markus's model) was set to be inactive.

A bug encountered was when making new lockpicks, the lockpick sometimes dissapears in the scene view when playign and ends up at the original location. This is because of the animatoins on the lockpick to show that it is rotating, so prevent it from moving a new script was made to force the position to stay in the same place. A parent object was added to the lockpick which had the above script attached - so when the game started it would be facing the correct direction and be in positon.
